And, in case you were wondering...

This is the pug, Daisy May.  She has been with us since she was 8 weeks old.  She's like part of the family; we all love Miss Daisy!

Mother's Day 2012

A day that makes my heart soar. I'm so proud to be Savannah's mother and for the three of us to spend the day together was the best gift one could ever ask for.

Easter 2012

Easter this year was pretty crazy with so much going on but we did all enjoy the time spent together as a family.

Our Little Cheerleader

Over the summer, Savannah participated in a cheer group called the "Bearkittens" which is a cheerleading group for youngsters.  It goes by "Bearkitten" because it was held at my Alma Mater Brookland-Cayce High School.  This, of course, made my day and when I had originally heard about it, I signed her up the same day!  After the camp was over, the group would cheer at the very first JV football game of the season.  How cool!  It felt incredible to go back to "The Cage" and see my daughter perform there when I performed there years ago.  I was so incredibly proud of her; she did great!!

Kindergarten

August 20th was Savannah's 1st day of Kindergarden and it was quite a bittersweet day.  I decided to take the morning off so I could take her to school and pick her up; she only went from 8-10 that morning.  Josh came, too and we were both in disbelief that our baby was in "big girl" school.  Of course I was a nervous wreck and cried off and on the night before and the morning of.  When we walked her into class, she casually waved and said "bye, Mom" and headed to learn.  It was at that time that I completely broke down in tears.  I couldn't regain my composure fast enough and had to leave the room.  After we dropped her off, Josh and I headed to grab some breakfast and we both sat in silence, like we couldn't believe we just handed our "baby" over.  Very emotional.  I couldn't pick her up fast enough.  I believe we got back to the school around 9:30; I just couldn't wait any longer.
